Dupont Studio Session | Post-Impressionism: Van Gogh

  • ArtsClub DC 1506 19th Street Northwest Washington, DC, 20036 United States (map)

“It is good to love many things, for therein lies the true strength, and whosoever loves much performs much, and can accomplish much, and what is done in love is well done.”

― Vincent Van Gogh

Vincent van Gogh was a Dutch post-impressionist painter who used thick brushwork and dreamlike colors to create beautiful imaginative paintings. He also tended towards classic stills like flowers arranged on a table. In this lesson we will help you achieve his thick, impasto brushwork to create a depiction of your choosing, that maintains a fantastical and dreamlike quality.

Ticket includes lesson and all art materials (including a 9x12 inch canvas). Coveralls/ smocks will be provided to protect your clothing. We’ll be working with acrylic paint and paint thickening mediums on canvas.
