  • ArtsClub DC 1621 Connecticut Avenue Northwest, 3rd Floor Washington, District of Columbia, 20009 United States (map)

Morris Louis was a leading figure of the Washington Color School whose breakthrough poured-paint technique inspired a generation of artists in Washington, D.C.

In this studio session, learn about Louis's brief yet vital involvement in D.C.'s first-ever modern art movement. Then, experiment with pouring, staining, and layering acrylic paint to create colorful abstract compositions.

Open to all experience levels. Tickets include a guided lesson and all art materials.

This Studio Session is part of our Abstract Expressionism series. You can sign up for a single class or for the entire series here.
